New Goldring Tennis Center Opens at Tulane

The new Goldring Tennis Center opened uptown in February, marking a long-awaited return of Tulane Tennis to campus.

The facility is made possible through the generosity of the Goldring Family Foundation, as well as Mark Tipton (A&S ’78), chair of the Intercollegiate Athletics Committee of the Board of Tulane, and other generous donors. It represents a major investment in both student-athletes and the broader New Orleans community.

“Tulane offers a truly holistic educational experience that includes fielding the best teams both in the classroom and on the court,” Tulane President Michael A. Fitts said.

“This is a homecoming for Tulane Tennis,” said David Harris, Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair, who called the donor support “essential in ushering in a new era for Tulane Tennis.”

William “Bill” Goldring (B ’64), representing the Goldring Family Foundation, said, “Our family believes in Tulane’s mission, and we are excited to see the impact this facility will have on Tulane student-athletes and the community for years to come.”

Located at 200 Broadway St. on Tulane’s University Square campus, the facility features six NCAA-regulation tennis courts and four pickleball courts. Besides serving as the new home for Green Wave Tennis, plans are underway to also welcome New Orleans community members who are tennis and pickleball enthusiasts to the new courts.

“This is a great moment for the Green Wave Tennis teams and the entire New Orleans community,” said Patrick Norton, senior vice president, chief operating officer and treasurer of Tulane. “This project begins a new chapter for our student-athletes, Green Wave fans and all of our neighbors who love tennis and Tulane.”
