LINDA STEWART HENLEY (NC ’70) wrote a new novel, “Kate’s War,” which will be published by She Writes Press this April. The book, Stewart Henley’s third novel, tells the story of 21-year-old Kate, who is forced to postpone her dream of a singing career as the threat of a German invasion looms over England and finds herself responsible for the well-being of a young Jewish girl.

ALAN GARTENHAUS (A&S ’74, G ’80) published the novel “Balsamic Moon” in 2022. It’s a historic novel set in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. He also has more than 20 short stories in print.

DR. DAVID MCLAIN (M ’74) has been elected to the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) in recognition of his significant contributions to the medical industry. The RCP is the oldest medical college in England and has a fellowship community of more than 18,000 senior medical leaders worldwide. By becoming a fellow, McLain will support and contribute to RCP’s objectives of promoting and improving patient-centered care, influencing the health care agenda, improving standards in clinical practice and championing the values of the medical profession.

TAD BOGDAN (A&S ’75), former CEO of multiple technology companies, published his first book “HOW TO MASTER THE UNIVERSE: Personal and Professional Life-Skills Guide,” which provides a comprehensive guide to help students, young professionals and seasoned veterans in their fields master skills needed for success such as public speaking, problem-solving, cultivating leadership and more. Bogdan is currently a consultant, speaker and member emeritus of the Tulane School of Science and Engineering Board of Advisors.

JUDY KOZONIS SNIDER (SW ’75) has just published her fourth suspense novel, “Betrayed,” with her husband Gil Snider with World Castle Press. The book is about a writer, Amy, who discovers a mysterious piece of metal in her body during a routine mammogram. The novel follows Amy’s search to determine how and why it got there while simultaneously attempting to identify a stalker intruding into her life. Kozonis Snider lives in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

STEVE LUX (A&S ’79, B ’81), co-founder and managing partner of Topmark Partners, was selected as Venture Investor of the Year for 2023 by Florida Venture Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the growth and development of entrepreneurs. The award celebrates individuals that have demonstrated exceptional fund performance, achieved high exit multiples and actively promoted entrepreneurship.

ZARUS WATSON (A&S ’79) was awarded the American Counseling Association (ACA) Presidential Citation for Lifelong Achievement in April 2023, at the ACA’s national conference. The award recognizes Watson’s many years of work within clinical mental health in communities, organizations and the higher education system.

ROBERT EDELSTEIN (A&S ’80) was honored by The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, Northeast Ohio Chapter with the Chair’s Citation Award on Nov. 4, 2023, in recognition of his dedication to the foundation’s mission.

DR. KALMAN D. BLUMBERG (E ’80), orthopaedic surgeon and spine specialist, has joined Holy Cross Medical Group, a multispecialty physician-employed group of more than 130 physicians providing services throughout Broward County, Florida. 

LINO GARCÍA JR. (G ’81) wrote a new book, “La Poesía en Don Quijote de la Mancha,” published by Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León in 2023. 

ROB WILLIAMS (A&S ’84) was named partner and chief growth officer of AO People Partners, which specializes in executive coaching and integrating leadership and people development into a company’s business strategy, culture and purpose. Williams comes to AO with experience leading senior managers at some of the most influential companies in the media business.

AMY ARNO (NC ’85) was named development director at the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival (AJFF). A philanthropic arts organization, AJFF seeks to engage and inspire Atlanta’s diverse community to new levels of social and cultural understanding, showcasing world-class international and independent films.

SALLY KLINGENSTEIN MARTELL (NC ’89) joined the Board of Trustees at the New-York Historical Society, New York’s first museum that conveys the stories of the city and the nation’s diverse populations.

PETER NEWMAN (L ’91) has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP), which is the only legal services organization dedicated to providing direct civil legal services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Philadelphia. Newman is a partner at Feldman Shepherd representing clients in catastrophic personal injury cases. He is a past board member of pro bono legal services provider Philadelphia VIP and continues to volunteer pro bono services. 

ROB BINDEMAN (A&S ’91) led the development of Crescent at Chevy Chase, a new multifamily apartment community in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Bindeman is president of Landmark Realty and serves on the advisory board of the Tulane Master of Sustainable Real Estate Development Program within the School of Architecture. He and his family live in Bethesda, Maryland.

LINDA JEFFERSON HOLMES (UC ’92, ’02) has written a book under the pseudonym Naomi Elie about the challenges of military caregiving. The book is titled “Beneath a Veteran’s Honor: A Conspiracy of Injustice.” Holmes is the founder and managing member of Naomi Elie Publications and Productions, LLC. She also previously held a 16-year tenure at Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans. Holmes lives in Mississippi.

ADRIENNE JOSEPH (B ’92) was named CEO of Houston Methodist Baytown Hospital, effective Jan. 1. Joseph has more than 30 years of health care experience, having worked in academic and community settings. Joseph served as COO at the hospital since 2020, contributing to several improvements including the completion of the five-story Unity Tower expansion project and the rise in patient safety rankings by Vizient, a health care quality organization.

MELISSA GABRIEL TOOLE (NC ’92) wrote her first children’s book, “Time Is on Your Side.” The book was published by Olympia Publishers in 2023 and covers the theme of helping kids adapt to change and embrace the passage of time.

ROSALYN HENDERSON-MYERS (L ’93), who is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, has been named one of USA Today’s Women of the Year, which recognizes women who have made a significant impact in their communities and across the country. Henderson-Myers represents District 31 in South Carolina and has held the seat since 2017. Prior to that, she served on Spartanburg’s City Council.

WILLIAM TAYLOR (B ’93, ’94) founded Taylor CPA & Associates, which received national recognition from Inside Public Accounting (IPA) magazine for its excellence in the CPA firm industry. IPA acknowledged the firm in two categories: one of the 10 best CPA firms in the U.S. with revenues under $10 million, and one of the 10 fastest-growing firms in the U.S. across all size/revenue categories. The firm was the only minority-owned firm that made the two noted lists.

MICHAEL GARCIA (L ’96) will spearhead the opening of the 11th office of the Weber Gallagher law firm in Coral Gables, Florida. Weber Gallagher has offices across six states in the Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and South Florida. Garcia, a Miami native, has more than 24 years of civil litigation experience, defending clients in state and federal courts. 

W. FORD GRAHAM (TC ’99), who serves as senior vice president of economic development with McGuireWoods Consulting, joined the Site Selectors Guild as an associate member. The Guild is the only association of the world’s foremost professional site selection consultants and membership is considered the highest standard in the corporate site selection industry.

PAULA KATZ (NC ’02) is now the senior curator of art at the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites. Katz will oversee the visual arts collection for the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites’ 12 locations across the state and serve as the museum system’s subject matter expert on historic and contemporary Indiana art.

DEDORAH BROWN (SW ’04) received the Tulane School of Social Work 2023 Ellen Gates Starr Service Award. Brown also published her third wellness book, “It’s Time to Self-Regulate Without Blame.” She was guest speaker and featured author at the New Orleans VA Medical Center for its Ladies Night Out event for female veterans, and donates many of her books — and her time — to communities in need.

KEVIN O’NEILL (SLA ’11) has completed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 4 Diploma in Wines, which is an expert-level qualification covering all aspects of wines.

JEFF THOMAS (PHTM ’11, M ’13) is the author of “The Farm Animal Movement: Effective Altruism, Venture Philanthropy and the Fight to End Factory Farming in America,” which was published in December by Lantern Publishing & Media. The book includes tactics used by pioneering activists, capitalists, farmers, lawyers, philanthropists, politicians, professors and scientists to address and help stop factory farming.

SARAH NEELAND (L ’14) and DR. MARC NEELAND (SSE ’07, ’08, M ’13) welcomed their second son, Lennon Beaux, on Feb. 9, 2024, little brother to Leo Grey, who was born April 24, 2021. 

RACHAEL RICHARD (SLA ’19) received the Cohen-Jordan Secondary Award from the Middle States Council for Social Studies. The award is presented to an outstanding secondary social studies teacher who sets high standards for social studies instruction in a middle or high school classroom. Richard teaches history to ninth and 11^th grade students at Bayonne High School in New Jersey. Richard also teaches an elective with a service learning component with the Lakota Nation on the Pine Ridge Reservation. 

ERIK SCHULTZ (SLA ’21) AND LEE P. GARY JR. (A&S ’63, PHTM ’10) have teamed to present three research papers on drone hydro-technology at the annual meetings of the Louisiana Academy of Sciences, Louisiana Energy Transition Research Symposium and Louisiana Water Conference. Schultz is the president and founder of Liberty Drones and Gary is an adjunct assistant professor at Tulane.

SOPHIE TANEN (SLA ’22) released a mystery novel titled “Fifty Feet Down” in 2023. The book centers around a New York City journalist who travels to West Rutland, Vermont, to discover more about her last living family member.
