The Class of 2027 includes students from 49 states and territories, the most in the last three years. While California led during the winter and spring with more than 200 committed students, Louisiana ultimately landed as the most represented state, with more than 230 commitments.
The number of international students in the Class of 2027 nearly doubled from last year to 125 students. With 34 different countries of citizenship represented, the farthest a new Tulanian will travel to New Orleans is from Malaysia, over 10,000 miles away.
“I could not be more proud of the Class of 2027,” said Vice President for Enrollment Management and Dean of Admission Shawn Abbott. “They will arguably be our most academically qualified, ethnically diverse, geographically diverse, and international we’ve seen in recent Tulane history. We were also able to attract a more socioeconomically diverse class – including a record number of first-generation college students.”
The Class of 2027 boasts an average GPA of 3.7 and includes 32 valedictorians. The average SAT and ACT scores for those who submitted standardized test scores increased slightly to 1448 and 32, respectively.
